Vancouver’s Pearl was transformed into a pressure cooker of melodic brutality and sweat-soaked energy on April 20th as the North American Blood Dynasty Tour made its long-awaited stop. With a lineup that boasted Arch Enemy, Fit For An Autopsy, Baest, and Thrown Into Exile, the night was primed for absolute chaos—and it delivered.
THROWN INTO EXILE
– OPENING WITH A WARCRY
Kicking off the night, Thrown Into Exile wasted no time making their presence known. Their set ripped out of the gate with searing riffs, chugging rhythms, and aggressive melodic lines that snapped the audience to attention. Despite being first on the bill, they refused to play like an opener. Their energy was relentless, and by the time their set wrapped, they’d left the crowd buzzing and warmed up for the carnage ahead.
BAEST
– DEATH METAL FROM THE DANISH UNDERWORLD
Baest followed and instantly raised the brutality meter. The Danish death metal powerhouse tore into their set like hellhounds unleashed, slamming the room with thick walls of sound. Their timing was razor-sharp, their stage presence raw and commanding. There was no dead space—just thunderous momentum. The crowd responded with circle pits and devil horns flying. If anyone had come in unfamiliar with Baest, they damn sure left as fans.
Met them outside the venue between sets. Genuinely nice guys.

FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY
– SURGICALLY PRECISE DEVASTATION
By the time Fit For An Autopsy hit the stage, the pit was already a swirling vortex of limbs. What followed was nothing short of surgical devastation. Their breakdowns were colossal, their tone monstrous, and the crowd gave back every ounce of rage they were handed. The band’s command of dynamic tension—shifting between blast beats and atmospheric interludes—showcased their evolution beyond traditional deathcore. The connection between band and audience felt primal, unfiltered, and brutally cathartic.

ARCH ENEMY
– MAJESTIC, MERCILESS, AND ON FIRE
Headliners Arch Enemy took the night to its apex with a ferocious display of melodic death metal mastery. Alissa White-Gluz commanded the stage like a general leading an army of the damned—her growls feral, her stage presence magnetic. Tracks from Blood Dynasty, including the blistering “A Million Suns,” lit up the venue, while anthems like “War Eternal” and “Nemesis” sent the crowd into pure frenzy.
Michael Amott delivered jaw-dropping riffs with signature flair, flanked by Joey Concepcion, whose precision and fire added a fresh edge to the band’s sound. The rhythm section—Sharlee D’Angelo on bass and Daniel Erlandsson behind the kit—was locked in, relentless, and pounding like the war drums of Valhalla. Together, they didn’t just perform—they incinerated.

THE VENUE – INTIMACY TURNED FURNACE
The Pearl is a rare beast in Vancouver—a cozy, no-frills venue that puts you shoulder-to-shoulder with the bands. But with a crowd this wild, it turned into a metal pressure chamber. Bodies slammed into walls, sweat dripped from the ceiling, and yet no one wanted to leave. The tight space only amplified the fury.
WRAP-UP – METAL MAYHEM, STRAIGHT TO THE VEIN
From the first riff to the final guttural scream, the night was an unrelenting blast of metal at its finest. Every band delivered, every set left a mark. For those inside The Pearl, it wasn’t just a concert—it was a full-on war ritual. Vancouver showed up hungry, and the Blood Dynasty Tour fed it in spades.
